Harvested among rugged terrain, in the isolated region of Huehuetenango, this coffee comes from Asociación Barillense de Agricultores, otherwise known as Asobagri. The Asobagri cooperative works to promote the social and economic improvement of its members by helping them commercialize and export a diverse range of crops, particularly coffee. They do this by providing their members with ongoing training and support, helping them produce high-quality crops while meeting fair trade and organic certification.
With over 1,400 members from over 80 different communities in the region, Asobagri is recognized as one of the most well-organized cooperatives in the world. On top of this, they remain committed to promoting gender equality, with many female members, as well as several female technicians who provide tailored training and support services.
We worked with Royal Coffee NY to secure this coffee.
