The Story Behind the Coffee
Our returning single origin, Colombia Juicy Strawberry, comes from the lush coffee landscapes of Huila in Colombia- a region known for producing some of the most expressive and complex coffees in the world. This lot isn’t just remarkable for where it’s grown, but how it’s processed: the cherries are co-fermented with real strawberries, creating a cup profile that’s as fun and playful as it is delicious.
In Huila’s high-elevation farms, cool mountain air and rich volcanic soils allow the coffee to develop deep sweetness and layered acidity. The cooperative growers here embrace innovation, blending traditional Colombian coffee cultivation with creative fermentation techniques that elevate flavor to something truly special.
What Makes This Coffee Unique
Unlike typical washed or natural coffees, Colombia Juicy Strawberry undergoes a co-fermentation process: ripe cherries are carefully selected, pulped, and fermented together with dehydrated strawberries over multiple days. This method deepens the fruity character of the beans and infuses the cup with vibrant, juicy fruit expression that’s unmistakable.
What you’ll taste in the cup is bright and captivating. Dominant notes of strawberry, supported by hints of milk chocolate, with a lively acidity that keeps every sip refreshing and bright. The mouthfeel is silky and sweet, a testament to both the terroir and meticulous processing.
In the Cup
Expect a vibrant, fruit-forward experience that truly lives up to the name Juicy Strawberry. Strawberry washes over the palate with a juicy clarity and milk chocolate richness rounds the sweetness.
This coffee shines with pour-overs where its fruity complexity sings, but it’s equally delightful as an espresso or batch brew when you want something bold yet balanced.
Why We’re Excited to Bring It Back
Colombia Juicy Strawberry isn’t just a coffee, it’s a sensory adventure. It pushes the boundaries of what Colombian coffee can be, blending innovative processing with expressive flavor. It’s fun, unexpected, and utterly delicious- exactly the kind of coffee that reminds us why we love what we do.
